In an undated newspaper clipping, Julius Campbell, right, visits teammate Gerry Bertier in the hospital following Bertier’s injury in an auto accident in December of 1971. Coach Herman Boone, left, and teammate Brad Smith joined Campbell in presenting Bertier with his plaque for making the Washington Star’s All-Metro team. Campbell and Smith were also All-Metro and the team was ranked #1 following its Virginia AAA football championship victory.
