Surrounded by media and well-wishers, Erin Weinburger holds son Whitaker, center, with daughter Lakeland as they walk to Charles Barrett Elementary School on Sept. 11. Whitaker, 4, who loves the yellow Bumblebee character in the “Transformers,” was greeted by more than 100 yellow vehicles in a surprise celebration of his first cancer-free birthday.
