While at the Pohick Bay dock on May 26, PFC Matthew Grubb and FC Brian Bowman of the Fairfax County Police Marine Patrol Unit noticed that this jet ski’s registration was improperly displayed. They subsequently discovered that the operator had no certificate on board indicating he had completed a boating safety course which is required of all personal watercraft operators under the age of 50. On July 1, all personal watercraft operators will require a boating safety education certificate. The operator received a summons for the registration violation and a warning for the safety certificate violation.
