The Mid-Atlantic Division of Centex Construction Company has been selected to provide construction services for two new construction contracts totaling over $130 million – the E. Barrett Prettyman Courthouse Annex and Renovation in Washington, D.C., with a construction value over $100 million, and the F-22 Facilities project at Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, with a construction value of approximately $32 million.

Metro DC Chapter of National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) awarded the 2002 Contractor of the Year Award to Residential Bath & Kitchen Creations, Inc. (Under $25,000).

Pinnacle Design & Consulting, a Fairfax-based architecture firm, has completed the first design phase for the renovated school and residence of the Youth for Tomorrow. Phase one of the 40,000 square-foot project includes designs for the group home's school and recreation facility located at the current site of Youth for Tomorrow in Prince William County. Pinnacle is also under contract to plan phase two of the renovation, a design for new dormitories to house the Youth for Tomorrow's first female residents.

Fairfax County Department of Purchasing and Supply Management has selected LeapFrog Solutions to provide marketing services for the Northern Virginia Workforce Investment Board. The contract award was approved by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors on April 8.
