Virginia Commerce Bank opened its 13th branch office located at 11820 Spectrum Center in Reston on May 1.

Myers Public Relations, LLC of Reston recently hired Janet L. Madigan as a new associate. Madigan has an MBA from Darden School at the University of Virginia and brings nearly 20 years of experience in high tech arenas to the new position.

Janet Ortiz recently joined The Sheraton Reston Hotel in Reston as a Catering Sales Manager. She will assist with all social, military, education, reunion, fraternal and entertainment clients in the surrounding area. Previously, Ortiz has held several sales positions assisting sales managers and directors at the Hilton Alexandria Mark Center in Alexandria.

Terrabrook land development company's marketing team was awarded a MAME, or Major Achievement in Marketing Excellence, Award by the Building Industry Association of Northern Virginia on Thursday, May 9. The award, in the category of Best Master Planned Community Brochure, was for the Broadlands community, located in eastern Loudoun County.

Reston-based Fraser Wallace Advertising was recently awarded several Major Achievement in Marketing Excellence (MAME) Awards at the 2002 competition held May 9 in Tysons Corner. They received the following awards: First Place for Best Community Brochure for a Multi-Family Apartment for The Metropolitan at Pentagon City; First Place for Best Sales Office, Pavilion or Rental Office and an Award of Merit for Best Multi-Media Campaign for a Community for KSI’s Metropolitan at Pentagon City; Award of Merit for Best Multi-Community Brochure for client CarrHomes; Award of Merit for Best Multi-Family Condo Community Brochure for a marketing piece for Jaguar Homes’ Providence Square community in Fairfax; and an Award of Merit for Best Color Print Ad Campaign for a Builder for a campaign created for the DC Metro division of Centex Homes.
