Mountain View Gains New Partner

<bt>Mountain View School, a Fairfax County alternative high school located in Centreville, and Digital Focus Inc. will kick off a new school/business partnership Thursday, Nov. 7, at 9:30 a.m., at the school.

Digital Focus will provide employee tutors and mentors to Mountain View students, as well as guest speakers to tie into the school curriculum. The company also plans to participate in schoolwide activities, including Career Day, Transitions to Tomorrow, and will provide opportunities for job shadowing. Scholarship donations have also been pledged by Digital Focus, as has use of company space for school training and meetings.

<sh>Buildings Magazine Honors FCPS

<bt>The Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) has been named one of the top 25 Professionals of the Year by Buildings magazine. FCPS is the only school system in the group of 25 top companies in the United States cited for the mention, which is based on statistics, company information and industry talk. The announcement was made in Who's Who in the Building Market, the magazine's annual report.

According to the magazine, the winners were honored for successfully finding the most efficient and effective solutions to their companies' facilities needs.

FCPS owns 14 office buildings totaling 614,027 square feet and 234 educational buildings totaling approximately 23.42 million square feet. New construction, renovation and infrastructure management are under the direction of the school system's Department of Facilities and Transportation Services.
