Awards and Achievements

The following Potomac residents graduated from Indiana University in May 2002: Benjamin David Bayder, with a bachelor of science in public affairs; Akila Maisha Jones, with a bachelor of general studies; David Lawrence Keifetz with a bachelor of arts; Scott Raymond Mendenhall, with a bachelor of science in education; Pamela Renee Newman, with a bachelor of arts; William Hanks Petersen, with a bachelor of music education; Lauren Gail Taub, with a bachelor of science in education; and Aaron Marc Udler, with a bachelor of arts.

Sarah Elyse Askin, Neal Jungjoon Kim, Shana Devon Pelter, William Hanks Petersen, Ian Matthew Sambur and Jodi Ellen were named to Indiana University’s honors’ list.

Air Force Airman John W. Van Horn III has graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. Van Horn is the brother of Alex Zawatsky of Bethesda.

Bethesda resident Air Force Airman First Class Christopher I. Stell has graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of Felicitas and James Stell.

Patrick W. Little has been commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force after completing the Air Force ROTC program and graduating with a bachelor’s degree from Clarkson University in Potsdam, N.Y. He is the son of William V. and Maureen A. Little of Rockville.
