Obituary

On Saturday, Sept. 6, Bruce J. Panagos died at his home in Potomac.

Hundreds of people attended funeral services for Bruce at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Potomac on Friday, Sept. 12.

He was the son of John and Mary Panagos, also of Potomac.

Bruce attended Our Lady of Mercy grammar school, then attended and graduated from Bullis School in Potomac. After high school graduation, he attended St. Anselm’s College in New Hampshire.

After college, Bruce went to work at The Gazette newspapers in the advertising department. After three years there, he left to become the advertising director of The Sentinel newspapers in Montgomery County. After two successful years at The Sentinel, he accepted the position of Associate Publisher of The Legal Times in Washington, D.C.

After two years at The Legal Times, he went into business for himself with the acquisition of Mid-Atlantic Restaurant Digest and became the Editor, Publisher and owner.

Mid-Atlantic Restaurant Digest is a monthly trade tabloid circulated to foodservice industry professionals throughout Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C. The magazine runs between 32 to 64 pages each month.

Bruce Panagos is survived by his wife, Donna, and two children, Matthew and Olivia. He is also survived by his parents and his four sisters, Linda, Diane, Kathy and Lisa Marie.
