The Alexandria police are looking for a suspect in a street robbery that happened in the city last month. The suspect was caught on a surveillance camera using the victim’s credit card.
On Oct. 25, at around 9 p.m., a 24-year-old Alexandria man was walking in the 300 block of E. Monroe Ave. when the suspect approached him. The suspect grabbed the victim and pressed an object, which the victim believed to be a gun, against the victim’s side. The suspect demanded the victim’s wallet, and the victim complied.
The suspect ran from the scene and was seen getting into a red, two-door car. About 30 minutes after the attack, the suspect used the victim’s credit card at a CVS in Oxen Hill, Md. The suspect was caught on the store’s security camera as he entered the store.
The suspect is described as a black male in his 20s, 5 feet 11 inches, with a medium build. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing dark clothing and a hood or a hat.
