Lyn Ganschinietz of Herndon was recognized by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors at its meeting on Monday, Feb. 9 for her willingness to assist board members and residents of Fairfax County during her tenure of more than 20 years as the director of government affairs for Media General and Cox Communications. L. Marie Wood of Herndon, author of "Crescendo" and "Caliginy" will hold a book signing on April 17 from 2-4 p.m. at Burke Used Books to benefit Parkinson's disease research. Ms. Wood will be signing books along with other local horror novelists.
