<cal1>ASSAULT BY MOB

<cal2>7000 block of Cindy Lane. Three young male teens were arrested and charged with assault by mob and being an associate member of a criminal street gang. The incident occurred on Jan. 20 at 11:45 a.m., at Poe Middle School, located at 7000 Cindy Lane in the Annandale area. On Jan. 22, the victim, age 12, reported to police that he and a friend, also age 12, were walking by a boys' bathroom near the cafeteria. They noticed the door was propped open. Another boy who was already in the bathroom motioned for them to come in. Fearing for their safety, they went in the bathroom where the three teens confronted them and threatened the first victim. One suspect punched the first victim and all three showed their gang affiliation. The victims were able to get away. One suspect threatened the first victim a second time at the end of the day. The victim did not report the incident until two days later because he feared for his life. The three suspects, two 13-year-olds and a 14-year-old, all from the Annandale area, were arrested on Jan. 22 at a school office at the completion of the school day.
