<b>Why are you running for this position?<b>

To make a positive difference in the community, I love and care about

<b>For incumbents, what is your top accomplishment in office?</b>

The James P. Moran Children’s Hospital Maternal & Health Clinic in Anacostia.

<b>What are the top five problems facing your constituents and how do you propose to address them?</b>

a. Traffic congestion: I will work hard to increase funding for more public transit, as well as, rail to Dulles.

b. The uneven quality of public education: I will focus my energies to bring more resources for smaller classes, higher teacher salaries and full funding for “IDEA” and the Leave No Child Behind programs.

c. Economy & jobs: I will push for more work force training money and through my position on the House Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, increase defense research and technology jobs for Northern Virginia.

d. Preservation of green space: continue to link bike trails throughout Northern Virginia, increase nature areas and parklands for recreation and education.

e. Health insurance premiums are too high, especially for seniors: we must repeal the Medicare Prescription Drug program and begin implementing a Universal Health Care system.

<b>What qualities and qualifications do you bring to the office?</b>

30 Years of consistent elected public service and a history of working with and meeting the needs of local government officials.

<b>How will voters best distinguish between you and your opponent?</b>

Experience in elected public service, including extensive community service before I was elected to office in 1979.

<b>What is one thing you promise not to do if elected?</b>

Tell people what they want to hear, instead of what they need to hear.
