Vienna-Tysons Regional Chamber of Commerce. 513 Maple Ave. W., Vienna. President is Francis G. Powers Jr. Promotes business and community welfare. Holds programs of significant interest at least once a month, plus networking mixers, and Business Appreciation Week. Group maintains Freeman Store, 131 Church St. N.E., Vienna, and other historic sites around Vienna. Educates residents about the area's heritage. Co-sponsor of events such as the Walk on the Hill each April, in which visitors may tour the well-maintained historical Windover Heights neighborhood.
Oakton Business and Professional Association. P.O. Box 3214, Oakton. Bill Loveless. Promotes cooperation among Oakton's business people and provides an opportunity for them to share concerns and problems. Encourages the use of local businesses. Works to give Oakton a strong identity. Presents an award each year to an outstanding student in the Oakton area.
Optimist Club. Richard J. Plocica, 703-938-0157. Established in 1955, a service club that works to assist youth. Goals are the advancement and recognition of the achievements of young people in the community. Supports about 100 community projects a year. Fund-raisers include annual Christmas tree sales and a July Fourth chili cookoff. Newcomers of Vienna and Friends. A noncommercial organization dedicated to welcoming newcomers to the community. New Neighbors League Club of DC Metro. A non-profit organization, is looking for those new to the area or newly retired and looking for new activities and friends.
