Robbery in Springfield

<bt>On Saturday, Sept. 11, around 8:30 a.m., two men robbed a 45-year-old Springfield area man inside the lobby of an office building located in the 6100 block of Brandon Avenue in the Springfield area. The victim was on the way to his office when the suspects approached him and announced the robbery. An undisclosed amount of cash and personal items were stolen. One of the robbers used a knife during the attack. The victim was treated for minor cuts to his hand, neck and stomach.

Both men were described as Hispanic, in their 30s. One was five-feet-seven-inches tall, weighing 160 pounds, wearing an unknown colored baseball cap, unknown colored shirt, and khaki pants. The only description on the other suspect is that he was wearing an unknown colored baseball cap.

<sh>Alexandria Man

Robbed

<bt>A 29-year-old Alexandria area man was robbed after accepting a ride from strangers at the bus depot in Washington D.C. The victim returned from a trip on Thursday, Sept. 9, in the early afternoon. After asking two men about taxis, they put his luggage in their red, Ford Ranger pick-up truck. They wouldn’t return the victim’s luggage and offered him a ride home. During the trip they said the cost of the ride would be $15. However, once the victim arrived in the vicinity of his residence in the 3600 block of Paul Street in the Bailey’s Crossroads area, one of the men assaulted him and stole his wallet. The suspects then fled the area toward Seminary Road. The victim was not injured.

One suspect is described as a black male in his 40s about six feet tall and 160 pounds. He has brown eyes and was wearing blue jeans and a gray shirt. The second suspect is described as a white male in his 40s about five-feet-nine-inches tall and weighing 175 pounds. He has short blond hair. He was wearing tan shorts and black sunglasses. The red pick-up truck may be a 1990 model.

Injured by Bullet

<bt>On Sunday, Aug. 5, about 12:45 a.m., a group of men and boys were standing in front of a home in the 7200 block of Highland Street in the Springfield area. A four-door car occupied by an unknown number of people drove by and shot at the group. The victim, A 16-year-old Lorton area youth, realized one of the bullets had injured his foot. His friends took him to Inova Healthplex in Springfield where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Detectives are investigating the incident as a gang-related shooting.

Dunkin’ Donuts

<bt>A Dunkin’ Donuts shop, located at 6699 Frontier Drive in the Springfield area, was robbed on Tuesday. Around 8:30 p.m., on Tuesday, Sept. 7, a man walked into the Dunkin’ Donuts and approached the clerk. He displayed a weapon tucked into his pants and demanded cash. The clerk, a 47-year-old Fairfax City area woman, complied with the request. The robber then demanded she lay on the floor as he fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a black male about 20-25 years old, six feet tall, 170 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a white T-shirt and gray sweat pants. He wore a black nylon cap.
