<sh>Arlington Man Robbed and Stabbed

<bt>On Sunday, Sept. 19, around 11 p.m., a 39-year-old Arlington man was in the 9100 block of Ashland Woods Lane, Lorton when he was attacked by two Hispanic men and robbed of cash. The victim was stabbed in the upper body. The suspects were seen getting into a small black compact car. No further description of the suspects is available.

<sh>Woman Robbed in Hybla Valley

<bt>Two suspects, one armed with a handgun, attempted to rob a 53-year-old woman in the Hybla Valley area last Saturday, Sept. 18. It happened around 12:30 p.m., when the Hybla Valley area woman was waiting for a bus at the intersection of Seven Woods Drive and Tamarind Street. She was approached by a man and a woman. The man displayed a gun and both demanded that the victim surrender her purse. She refused and both suspects fled the area. There were no injuries.

The first suspect is described as a black male in his 20’s, tall and thin and wearing black jeans, a long sleeve black shirt, and a bandanna on his head. The second suspect is described as a black female wearing tan pants, a jacket and with a red bandanna on her head.

<sh>Three Arrested in Alexandria

<bt>On Tuesday, Sept. 14 at approximately 11:30 p.m., a 32-year-old Alexandria City area woman, a 21-year-old Washington, D.C. area man and another 22-year-old Washington, D.C. area man were arrested at a home in the City of Alexandria in connection with a home invasion robbery that occurred in Fairfax County. Ida Dupree was arrested at her home located at North Ripley Street, in Alexandria and charged with one count of robbery and display of a firearm in commission of a felony. Kory R. McNaughton of 1701 C Street, Washington, D.C., and Fred Thompson of 435 20th Street, Washington, D.C. were also arrested and charged with the same. All three subjects are being held at the Fairfax County Detention Center with no bond.

<sh>Teenage Boys Robbed

<bt>Two teenage boys were robbed in the Woodlawn area but police quickly caught the two suspects. On Wednesday, Sept. 15, around 2:25 p.m. two teen boys were at the end of McNair Drive when they were approached by two men, one of whom displayed a gun. One of the boys was robbed of personal items but both were uninjured. As the robbers left the area the boys called police.

Gary Cunningham, 18, of no fixed address, was caught by police within minutes. Patrol officers from the Mount Vernon District Station were on the lookout for the suspects when Cunningham was spotted and apprehended. Cunningham was transported to the Mount Vernon District Station, where he was charged with abduction, robbery, attempted robbery, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute. Gregory Smith, 21, of Madge Lane in the Woodlawn area, turned himself in later that day. Smith was charged with abduction, robbery, attempted robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. Both Cunningham and Smith were held without bond.

<sh>Attempted Carjacking in Lorton

<bt>Fairfax County Police are investigating an attempted carjacking that occurred on Tuesday, Sept. 14, around 11:30 p.m., at a service station located in the 8000 block of Lorton Road. An 18-year-old North Carolina woman had stopped to get gasoline when she was approached by a man. After she got back into her car, the suspect approached the driver’s side and tried to get in. When the victim screamed, the suspect fled the scene in an older model white Lincoln Mark VII with a dark blue vinyl top. The vehicle also had a very loud exhaust system. There were no reported injuries during this incident. Fairfax County Police Helicopter and K-9 units responded but could not locate the suspect.

The suspect was described as black, in his early 30s, around six feet tall, weighing 170 pounds. He has a bald head and was wearing a white tank top with black shorts.

<sh>Two Teens Shot with BB Guns

<bt>On Sunday, Sept. 12, at 8:15 p.m., a 15-year-old Hybla Valley area girl was walking in the Fordson Road/Douglas Street area when she was shot with a BB gun from some nearby bushes. A pellet hit her stomach, causing a welt. She was treated at home by her mother.

On Monday, Sept. 13, a 16-year-old Hybla Valley area boy was on his way to West Potomac High School when he was shot by a BB gun. He was walking in the Sherwood Hall Lane/Fordson Road area at 6:47 a.m. when the incident occurred. He was treated by medics at the school. Two pellets hit him in the back and one in the hand, resulting in three welts. The suspect in this case is described as a black youth, about 16 years old, five feet seven inches tall and 145 pounds. He was wearing black jeans and an unknown shirt.
