Railroad Tour. Fairfax Station Railroad Museum sponsors a fall tour at 8:30 a.m. Participants will tour seldom seen Civil War sites in Prince William County. Stops include the 1st Military Railroad, Blackburn's Ford, Mayfield Fort, Confederate fortifications in and around the Manassas Museum, Jackson's famous Manassas Junction raid, the Canon Branch Fort, the Bristoe Station Battlefield, and more if time allows. Cost is $25 for members, $30 for non-members. All proceeds go to museum. The museum is located at 11200 Fairfax Station Road, Fairfax Station. Fall for Fairfax. The 12th annual Fall for Fairfax takes place from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the Fairfax County Government Center, 12000 Government Center Parkway. Activities include scarecrow making, hayrides, pumpkin painting, a farmer's market, pony rides, petting zoo, crafts, food, more than 50 exhibitors and merchants, and much more. Admission is free. States (BLM-ES) sponsors a wild horse adoption from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Meadowood Special Recreation Management Area, 10406 Gunston Road, Lorton. More than 100 horses will be available for adoption with a large variety of animals of various colors and a good selection for age and size. The adoption will be determined by

auction, with a starting adoption fee of $125 per animal. Adopters must provide their own stock-type step up trailer (ramps or split two-horse typetrailers are not allowed).
