If you could meet anyone else, at any time in history, who would it be and why? Booker T. Washington. His role in the post-slavery era has been largely misrepresented or ignored. A native Virginian and founder of The Tuskegee Institute, Washington's views on individual responsibility and the importance of education were light years ahead of many of his contemporaries. He was a man of courage, fortitude and vision.
