Case Goes to Grand Jury

A General District judge has found probable cause in the case of Rossi Anderson Harricharan, who was arrested in February on charges of malicious wounding and breaking and entering.

A grand jury will convene May 9 to consider an indictment against Harricharan, 18, of Sterling. He is one of at least three people believed to have chased a 21-year-old Sterling man and cut him with a knife or a machete, authorities say. The victim was seriously injured. Kraig Troxell, a Sheriff's Office spokesman, said the incident appeared to be drug-related.

Probable cause was found during a preliminary hearing held April 21.
