Keep It Clean

Letter to the Editor

To the Editor:

I am a bit saddened that the David Bulova (D) campaign would instruct its supporters to attack our good friend, John Mason (R), in some misleading letters to the editor. It's even more upsetting that after Bulova signed a clean campaign pledge, he then send his surrogates to go and attack John. If we cannot trust David to keep his clean campaign pledge, how can we trust any of the promises he makes in his mailings.

What's more surprising is that many of the groups that David criticizes as "special interests" are the same ones which have also donated to him or his mother [Supervisor Sharon Bulova (D-Braddock)]. Does David think his mother in the pocket of special interests? Or does the fact that his mother gave him $14,000 mean that his is in his mother's pocket?

The fact is that John is an independent leader who cannot be bought. Instead of the usual bland campaign statements, John has listed a series of his key principles that he promises to uphold, which every voter can see on his Web site at www.masonfordelegate.com. John's first principle is "Serving you as your voice in the House of Delegates will be my only agenda. Partisan agendas, politics, and outside special interests will never come ahead of your needs when I am your Delegate".

That's the kind of honest, bipartisan leadership we need and the kind we can expect when John Mason is elected as our next Delegate.
