Last Chance to Buy a Painted Pony

The 10 painted ponies that were on display in Potomac for the past four months are now back at "the barn" getting groomed to be sold at a live auction Nov. 19.

Artists from Potomac Artists in Touch, a nonprofit group, collected sponsorships for the ponies last year and painted them to be put on display. Proceeds from the auction next week will go to local and national charities including the Cabin John Park Volunteer Fire Department, the Community Ministry of Montgomery County, Cure Autism Now and So Others Might Eat.

The auction will be held Saturday, Nov. 19, from 6:30 p.m.-midnight at the Bolger Center, 9600 Newbridge Drive.

Auction tickets must be purchased in advance.

The gala auction will include a cocktail reception, formal dinner and live entertainment and items like spa services and wine will be auctioned in addition to the ponies. Cocktail or formal riding attire is requested.

No tickets will be sold at the door. Tickets may be bought in advance for $140 each by calling Mary Moltz at 301-983-0669 or Kaushika Patel at 301-346-2766 or sending an e-mail to info@potomacartistsintouch.com.
