Man Charged with Burglary, Abduction

Most burglars don't knock first, but that's what police say Andrew Bullock did before allegedly breaking into a Centreville home, the day after Christmas. They charged Bullock, 45, of 1109 Waterford Place in Herndon, with one count of burglary and two counts of abduction.

According to Fairfax County police, last Monday, Dec. 26, around 1:30 a.m., a man knocked on the door of an apartment in the 6200 block of Ridge Pond Road in Centre Ridge. A 26-year-old male resident answered the door, but then, say police, the man allegedly assaulted him.

Police say the man then entered the apartment and reportedly assaulted a woman, 26, who also lives there. Meanwhile, the male victim began to struggle with the suspect while the female victim fled the apartment and called police from a neighbor's apartment.

When police arrived, they apprehended the suspect, reportedly identified as Bullock. The male victim suffered minor injuries, but was not taken to a hospital. Bullock was transported to Inova Fair Oaks Hospital for treatment of minor injuries and was then taken to the Adult Detention Center.

When asked whether the resident opened his door because he might have known the person who was knocking, police spokesman Bud Walker replied, "We have no evidence that they knew each other." Bullock is being held in jail without bond, pending his Feb. 13 court date.
