The Torpedo Factory will be open until 9 p.m. as part of Second Thursdays in Old Town on Thursday, July 13.

Abstract This! by the Del Ray Artisans, an exhibit highlighting the less traditional side of the art spectrum, runs weekends through July 16 at the Colasanto Center, 2704 Mount Vernon Ave.

The Torpedo Factory’s Target Gallery presents “Show Me Your Metal,” through July 16. This juried exhibition features works in or about metal.

Juror David Hess is a sculptor based in Baltimore. He has exhibited throughout the Mid-Atlantic region and his work can be seen at various locations including the Baltimore-Washington International Airport, the Baltimore Museum of Industry, and the American Visionary Art Museum.

Through July 17, the Springfield Art Guild’s Annual Juried Show will be on display at George Washington’s River Farm, 7931 East Boulevard Drive.

The show will feature original artwork of a botanical nature by members of the Springfield Art Guild.

The show will be exhibited on the lower floor of the estate house at River Farm, which is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturdays, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. The public is welcome and there is no admission charge.

Art at City Hall, a juried exhibition sponsored by The Art League, the Del Ray Artisans and the City of Alexandria is on display Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., through July 21.

The Von Brahler July Open Studio presents “Mary Magdalene, the Icon” by rfm. The show will be Saturday, July 22 and Sunday, July 23.

The show will be 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at The Von Brahler Ltd./Gallery, 1437 Powhatan St.

“Inspired by the Plant: Art and Illustration” runs at The Athenaeum Gallery, 201 Prince St., through July 30.
