Cameron Mahjoubi’s graduation party turned into a full-fledged carnival, with more than 50 current and former Wootton graduates, a moon bounce, a Good Humor truck serving free ice cream, a s’mores-making station and a pair of rock bands.
Attendees gathered in the backyard of the Mahjoubis’ Potomac home to listen to Wootton’s very own Hank Wangford and the Poo Dawgs band and the critically acclaimed band Crash, Boom, Bang, formerly known as Urbanstyle. Graduates enjoyed a wide array of finger foods and desserts as they relaxed after their Thursday graduation and reminisced about their high school days.
“Each successive year has been better,” said Mahjoubi, who will attend Colgate University in the fall.
“These four years at Wootton have been the best four years of my life,” echoed Jordan Hitchens who will be attending University of California-Davis next fall.
As the evening wore on, 2006 graduates played a game of soccer, danced to Crash, Boom, Bang’s energetic and catchy songs like “Are you Ready?”
“I am really going to miss the people. Our class has become very close,” said Lindsey DeGeorge, who will attend the University of Virginia in the fall.
