The county celebrated the opening of the 40-mile Cross County Trail Saturday with festivities at different locations. Oak Marr RECenter was one of them. The project, which renovated and connected many miles of existing trail, was completed in December, but the celebration was timed to coincide with the onset of spring weather. The trail runs from the Potomac River in the north to the Occoquan in the south and took about six years of construction to complete.
The Oak Marr celebration included an obstacle course, a petting zoo, a moon bounce, a Canine Good Citizens program and more.
