A Busy Year for Oakton Theater

On Nov. 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, and 18 we well present “You Can’t Take It With You.” It features the best of our theatre students and includes spectacular fireworks. We will also have our rendition of ‘snakes in play,’ which makes for an exciting addition to this already famous play.

“Moon Over Buffalo” will be revealed to the public on Nov. 30 and 31. I guarantee you an evening of drama and intrigue. All these electrifying evenings will lead up to our ultimate spring musical “The Wizard of Oz.”

The cast is already hard at work perfecting their unique characters. Our ingenious costume designer Mrs. Baker just recently finished the costume of Glinda, which took an enormous amount of time — three whole weeks. Mrs. Baker was also able to complete the fantastic costumes of Dorothy, the wicked witch and two ruby slippers.

With the rest of the costumes in progress, we will sure to ‘look the part.’ The most exhilarating news of all is our TWO Totos. One of which is a direct descendent of the great Toto himself, Judy Garland’s costar. We are more than thrilled about our projects this year, and we hope you are too. Oakton High school theatre welcomes, and hopes you join us when we transform our stage to another world.
