Centreville Elementary will hold its Back to School Rally on Friday, Sept. 8 at 2:15 p.m. Students, teachers and administrators will gather outside the school and celebrate their return to school with cheers, songs and live music provided by the staff rock band, which includes Principal Jim Latt.

Community Resource Night, sponsored by the Centreville Elementary School PTA, will be held Thursday, Sept. 14 from 7-8 p.m. in the Centreville Elementary School cafeteria. Participants include: Allergy and Asthma Network — Mothers of Asthmatics, Asthma Coalition of Northern Virginia, Boy/Cub Scouts, CHADD, Coordinated Services Planning, Centreville Baptist Church, Centreville Library, Centreville United Methodist Church, Dinner Done, Fairfax County Park Authority, Fairfax Community and Recreation Services, Girl Scouts, INOVA HealthSource, Parent Resource Center, Partnership for Healthier Kids, Police Department, SYA, Western Fairfax Christian Ministries (Ways and Means Homelessness Prevention), World Class Tae Kwon Do. The Chantilly High School Music Department will hold its annual Tag Day on Saturday, Sept. 16. The music students will be visiting the homes in the Chantilly High School attendance area, offering tags in exchange for monetary contributions to the music program. Each tag can be exchanged for two tickets to an upcoming orchestra, band or choral production.

Franklin Middle School will hold a Back to School Night on Thursday, Sept. 21 at 6:30 p.m. Parents will be able to meet with the new principal, Sharon Eisenberg.

The Chantilly High School Boosters will hold its second annual “Raise the Spirit” 5K on Saturday, Sept. 23, at 8 a.m. Money raised will help to provide equipment and uniforms to the sports teams as well as scholarships. The cost is $20 per person for early registration, postmarked before Sept. 20. Registration after Sept. 20 and race day will be $25 per person. Teams of four or more are encouraged and will save $2 per person.

Get a foursome together and sign up now for the Sixth Annual Westfield Bulldog Athletic Booster Golf Classic. Held Monday, Sept. 25 at the Pleasant Valley Golf Club, this four player Captain's Choice tournament supports all athletic programs at Westfield High School. Each $125 entry fee includes 18 holes of golf, sleeve of WHS Bulldog golf balls and unlimited range balls, and an award luncheon after golf. Shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.

The first graduating class of Chantilly High School, the Class of 1976, will hold its 30th reunion, Saturday, Oct. 14 (Labor Day weekend). The Homecoming Football game is the Friday before. It will be at the Hilton Dulles at 7 p.m. Tickets are $100 a person, and rooms are $89 each. What's proposed is an Oct. 13 Homecoming game gathering; Oct. 14 daytime golf outing, and an Oct. 15 picnic. Deadline to purchase tickets is Tuesday, Aug. 1. The 26th Annual St. Timothy School Fall Craft Fair, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 18, has a few more booths available for crafters seeking to sell their handmade items. This is a large event, with more than 150 crafters participating from all over the Mid-Atlantic region. The Westfield High School Chamber Singers have been selected to participate in the Washington Chorus Side-by-Side program for the 2006-07 school year. Performances will be held on Thursday, Dec. 21, at the Music Center at Strathmore in Bethesda, Md., and on Saturday, Dec. 16, and Saturday, Dec. 23, at the John F. The Liberty Middle School After-School program affords interested volunteers the opportunity to work with groups of middle school students in a variety of academic, enrichment, youth development, and recreational activities anytime between 3–6 p.m. daily. They are looking for help with a myriad of activities to include tutoring; teaching computer skills, dance, cooking, oil painting, gardening, and creative writing; supervising a literacy, math, technology, or science activity; coaching a sports activity; or teaching aerobics. Deer Park Elementary requests that the Centreville community save their Campbell's Labels for Education for our 2006-2007 school year collection effort.
