The Loudoun County Department of Family Services will hold its next "Homeownership 101" workshop Monday, Aug. 13 and Wednesday, Aug. 15, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the Leesburg Public Safety Center, 65 Plaza Street, Leesburg. The county provides free homebuyer education workshops to assist potential first-time homebuyers in understanding the home-buying process. The six-hour workshop covers a number of topics relating to homeownership, including budgeting, credit, working with Realtors, the mortgage process and what to expect at settlement.
The workshops are held several times throughout the year over a two-evening time period from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at different locations. Attendance at both sessions is required. Participants must pre-register by contacting Chris Vogel of the Department of Family Services at 703-777-0353.
