Supervisor-elect Stevens Miller (D-Dulles) announced his nomination for Dulles District planning commissioner last week, tapping Gum Spring Regional Citizens Network founder Sandra Chaloux.
"I think she’s just a real smart lady," said Miller, adding that he had known Chaloux to be thoughtful, well-prepared and well-spoken. "And I’ve never seen her show a lack of respect to anyone," he said, noting that a sense of respect would be important in a position that requires working with the public.
The Gum Spring Regional Citizens Network has worked to protect density limits in the Transition Policy Area and has been involved in other land-use issues. Miller said he came to know Chaloux when he became interested in county land use and sought out people involved in such issues in other parts of the Dulles District than his own.
