McLean Rotary President Elect Honored

Scott Mills, president-elect of the McLean Rotary Club, was honored at the recent Rotary District 7612 District Conference in Charlottesville, Va. by district Gov. Burt Lamkin. Mills was the recipient of two honors — a personal award for Rotarian of the Year of District 7610 for 2006-2007, and a group award which he accepted on behalf of the McLean Rotary Club for the Best Web site in District 7610.

In addition to thousands of volunteer hours, each year Rotary contributes millions of dollars in humanitarian aid and relief around the globe, funds 1,000 international scholarships and provides cross-cultural exchanges for some 7,000 youth. Through its flagship program PolioPlus, Rotary has contributed more than $600 million to the Global Polio Eradication Initiative.
