The Potomac Community Center honored Benjamin Boyd last month with a plaque in the center’s gym. Boyd was a 1970 graduate of Winston Churchill High School, and devoted more than 30 years to the Montgomery County Department of Recreation as a coach, a referee, a mentor and a recreational assistant, as well as a friend to many in the community. He died in December 2006 following more than two years of heart complications.
