The Sterling Playmakers announce the upcoming auditions for "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever," based on the book written by Barbara Robinson. This show will be produced by April Bridgeman and directed by Liz Smith. Auditions will be held Thursday, Sept. 27, 7-10 p.m.; Friday, Sept. 28, 7-10 p.m.; Saturday, Sept. 29, 1-4 p.m., at the Senior Center at Cascades, 21060 Whitfield Place, Sterling. The cast consists of 27 parts for children and adults. Ages 5 and up. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script and holiday poetry as well as Christmas Carol singing. The American Shakespeare Center (formerly Shenandoah Shakespeare Express) will perform "Henry V" by William Shakespeare Saturday, Sept. 29, 7:30 p.m., in the Waddell Theater on the Northern Virginia Community College, Loudoun campus, Sterling. As part of the Loudoun County Public Library’s One Book-One Community, branches of the library system will be hosting a Reader’s Theatre presentation of selections from "The Book Thief" by Markus Zusak.
