Episcopal and Woodberry Forest line up before a snap during last Saturday’s rivalry game between the two teams.

The Episcopal football team closed out its season with a 25-13 defeat at the hands of rival Woodberry Forest this past Saturday. It was the Maroon’s first loss since October against Landon. Episcopal ends the year with a 6-3 record and a second-place showing in the IAC.

Episcopal’s defense ruled the day as the Maroon offense struggled to get much going through. Lineback Brandt Gess finished with 14 tackles, junior Mike Jones had 13 tackles and a forced fumble, and sophomore Lorenzo Chavez was in on nine tackles.

Senior wide receiver Hunter de Buts had five catches for 95 yards, while senior quarterback Alex Helm threw two touchdown passes
