Alexandria Sports Briefs: TC Football Blows Out Annandale

Led by a strong performance from its defense, the T.C. Williams football team defeated Annandale, 31-7, on Friday.

Damien Benton and Israel Richardson each scored a defensive touchdown for the Titans, who improved to 3-3, 1-2 in the Patriot District. Benton finished with 14 tackles and an interception. Richardson had two interceptions.

Deontre Sanders recorded nine tackles and two sacks and DaJuan Douglas had four tackles and two sacks. Tevin Isley, Prince Okigbo and Jay Whitmire each had one sack.

T.C. Williams hosts Woodson at 1 p.m. Saturday.

<b>Sportsman’s Club To Host Redskins Night</b>

The Sportsman’s Club will host Redskins Night at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Old Dominion Boat Club. Social hour begins at 7 p.m. with a meeting to follow at 8 p.m. The event is free and open the public, with food and beverage provided.

<b>Mount Vernon Fundraiser To Be Held Saturday</b>

A fundraiser and dinner dance benefiting the Mount Vernon girls basketball team will be held Saturday at Village Wharf Restaurant, located at 7966 Fort Hunt Road.
