The Washington-Lee football team defeated Stuart, 34-21, on Friday, giving the Generals three straight wins after opening the season 0-3.
Washington-Lee travels to take on Mount Vernon on Friday.
<b>Powell-to-Hunt Connection Not Enough For Wakefield</b>
The Wakefield football team lost to Falls Church, 28-27, in overtime Friday.
An 18-yard touchdown pass from Drew Powell to Aaron Hunt pulled the Warriors to within one in overtime, but the ensuing point-after-touchdown attempt was blocked. The loss dropped Wakefield to 0-5.
Powell completed 11 of 21 passes for 199 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for a touchdown. Hunt had five catches for 151 yards and three touchdowns.
Wakefield hosts Hayfield on Friday.
