MCC Budget to Be Discussed

The Governing Board of the McLean Community Center (MCC) will hold a finance committee meeting of the whole and a public hearing on the center’s proposed fiscal year 2014 budget in September. The center is located at 1234 Ingleside Avenue.

The finance committee meeting of the whole, at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 12, will be chaired by MCC Treasurer Sean A. Dunn, who also serves as chair of the board’s Finance Committee. MCC is supported by a real estate tax surcharge paid by district residents. During the meeting, the Finance Committee will present its draft budget to finance center programs and events for fiscal year 2014, which begins July 1, 2013 and ends June 30, 2014. The full board will discuss the recommendations and consider revisions to the draft budget proposals.

The public hearing on the fiscal year 2014 budget will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27. The governing board will review and discuss the final budget proposal. The board will take action on the final proposed budget at its regular monthly meeting, which will follow the public hearing.

Copies of the budget proposals will be available at the center’s reception desk, on the website (www.mcleancenter.org) and at the meetings. District residents who have suggestions, comments or concerns will have an opportunity to voice them at the meeting or the hearing. In addition, residents who call the center to announce their intentions to attend the finance meeting or the public hearing will receive a budget package when they arrive at the meeting or the hearing.

Residents of Dranesville Small Tax District-1A who wish to speak at the finance committee meeting of the whole or the public hearing are asked to call 703-790-0123, TTY: 711, to have their names placed on the speaker’s list for the meeting or the hearing.
