The Governing Board of the McLean Community Center (MCC) will hold two meetings on its Proposed FY 2015 budget in September. A Finance Committee Meeting of the Whole and a public hearing will be held beginning at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept 16, at the center, which is located at 1234 Ingleside Avenue.
The Finance Committee Meeting of the Whole will be chaired by MCC Treasurer Craig Richardson, who is chair of the board’s Finance Committee. MCC is supported by a real estate tax surcharge paid by residents of Small District 1A-Dranesville. During the meeting, board committees will present their recommendations on how to finance center programs and events for FY 2015, which begins July 1, 2014 and ends June 30, 2015. The full board will discuss the recommendations and consider revisions to the budget proposals.
Copies of the proposed budget will be available at the center’s reception desk, on the center’s website, www.mcleancenter.org, and at the meeting. District residents who have suggestions, comments or concerns will have an opportunity to voice them at the meeting. In addition, residents who call the center to announce their intentions to attend the session will receive a budget package when they arrive.
The public hearing will be held immediately following the work session. District residents who wish to speak at the public hearing are asked to call 703-790-0123, TTY: 711, to have their names placed on the speakers’ list. Written comments may be sent to the Governing Board by mail (address to: McLean Community Center, 1234 Ingleside Avenue, McLean VA 22101), fax 703-556-0547 or e-mail (email@example.com).
Residents may continue to submit written comments after the public hearing, until the board meets at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 25, to approve the FY 2015 budget.
