Francis J. Rechner has been awarded an Air Force ROTC scholarship to attend a host college or university. High school seniors from across the United States are selected after a competitive application process based on comprehensive tests scores, scholastic achievement, school officials' evaluations, extra-curricular activities, and community involvement. Rechner is the son of Frank and Daphne Rechner of Bennet Pond Court, Chantilly, is the grandson of Eva Stinson of Splendid Circle North, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Frank and Sue Rechner of Rosewood Lane, Phoenixville, Pa., and grandson of Helen Rechner of Parkview Drive, King of Prussia, Pa. Rechner is a 2012 graduate of Chantilly High School.

Air Force Reserve Airman Rosa I. Portillo graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force. Portillo is the daughter of Noemy Portillo and Hugo Pacheco of Dawn Valley Court, Chantilly. She is a 2005 graduate of Westlake High School, Waldorf.

Marine Corps Pfc. Arturo O. Campos Lopez, son of Mariluz Lopez Martinez of Centreville, earned the title of United States Marine after graduating from recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S. C. Campos Lopez is a 2009 graduate of Centreville High School.
