2012 Alexandria Historical Society Awards Ceremony

Four High School History Awards were given to Robert LaRose (Bishop Ireton High School), Joslyn Chesson (Episcopal High School), Douglas Maggs (St. Stephen’s St. Agnes) and Saara Kaudeyr (T.C. Williams High School). With the students are Alexandria Historical Society president Bill Dickenson and former state Sen. Patricia S. Ticer.

Bill Dickinson, president of the Alexandria Historical Society welcomed and introduced members and guests to the annual awards ceremony last Wednesday evening at the Lyceum. Stephanie Pace Brown, president and CEO of the Alexandria Convention and Visitors Association gave the awards address. Debra P. Ackerman, chair of the AHS High School History Awards Committee presented awards to four local high school students: Robert LaRose (Bishop Ireton High School), Joslyn Chesson (Episcopal High School), Douglas Maggs (St. Stephen’s St. Agnes School) and Saara Kaudeyr (TC Williams High School). Robert L. Madison and Michael Lee Pope were both awarded Special Awards for notable contributions to the Society and Alexandria History.
