Mount Vernon — Mount Vernon District police officers, initially called for a noise complaint at the intersection of San Leandro Place and Mendocino Place at 11;30 p.m., Wednesday, May 16, found a 47-year-old man sitting in a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper body. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The victim of this homicide has been identified as Morgan Detroy Monroe Jr., 47 of Landover, Md. The vehicle he was found in is a black, 1996 Honda Accord, four-door.
Police are investigating this as a homicide.
