The Vienna Youth Soccer (VYS) Patriots Black, an under-13 girls travel soccer team, competed in the 2013 Jefferson Cup tournament Saturday and Sunday, March 16 and 17, in Richmond. They were crowned Champions of the Platinum Division after four hard-fought games against teams from Virginia, New Jersey and New York. After a 1-0 win and a stinging loss on Saturday, they rallied and battled to two 1-0 victories over their opponents despite cold temperatures, rain and muddy fields Sunday. The VYS Patriots Black compete in the Region 1 Premier League and are coached by Hank Leung.
