On Wednesday, July 31, shortly before 2 a.m., officers came

upon a 2009 Infiniti, four-door sedan stopped on Lee Highway over

unknown reasons, exited the rear passenger compartment of the

Infiniti while it was being driven by her grandparents. The girl fell onto

the travel lanes of Lee Highway. Her injuries were determined to be

life threatening and she was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital.

On Tuesday, Aug. 13, around 3:40 p.m., the 17-year-old, Jasmyne

Grant, of Reston, was pronounced dead.

The Crash Reconstruction Unit is continuing the investigation.
