Girl Assaulted While Walking to School in the Lorton Area

Officers responded to a report of an assault that took place around 7:45 a.m. Tuesday, June 7 along Silverbrook Road near Monacan Road.

The victim, a 16-year-old girl, was walking along the sidewalk/pathway toward the school when a man grabbed her from behind around the waist. The victim screamed and the man ran off south of the location. She immediately reported the alleged assault to the school resource officer who checked the area, along with patrol officers. The suspect was not located.

The suspect was described as Hispanic, with a mustache, and wore dark clothing. This incident is under investigation.

Police Investigate Sexual Assault in the Lorton Area

Police were called for a report of a sexual assault on Friday, June 3 around 4:55 p.m. An investigation determined a 20-year-old woman was walking in the area of Richmond Highway near Cherwek Drive when a man approached from behind, grabbed her dress and sexually assaulted her. The suspect fled on foot.

Police units and a K-9 team searched the area extensively but did not locate him. The suspect was described as Hispanic, about 5-feet-7 inches tall and clean-shaven, with short, dark hair. The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
