— The ergometers were in place and in action by 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23 at Ballston Commons. Members of the Yorktown High School crew teams and members of Habitat for Humanity participated in the Sharon Miotke Memorial Row for Humanity. Miotke, a teacher at Ashlawn Elementary School, died in June of 2007 of pancreatic cancer. A goal of 200 miles and $25,000 was set; participants logged in their times and distance as they completed the workout. All proceeds from the annual fundraiser benefit the Yorktown High School Crew, The Arlington County Chapter of Habitat for Humanity and the Arlington community.
