Eric Costantino has been accepted as a violist into the Credo Chamber Festival, to be held at Oberlin Conservatory this summer.

Sally Anne Braeuer graduated from Villanova University School of Law.

Samuel Frazier was named to the Curry College dean's list for the Spring 2013 term.

Three T.C. Williams students competed at the Virginia Junior Academy of Sciences Symposium in Blacksburg. Emma Beall, C.A.M. Gerlach and Emily Schulman were selected to attend based on written research papers submitted in February. The three-day event allows students from throughout Virginia to meet and share their research projects. Emma and Christopher both received honorable mentions for their presentations. All three students were presenting work completed in the Independent Science Research Class at TC.

Andrea T. Brendalen received a bachelor of science degree in environmental sciences from the University of Vermont.

Sarah E. Bryan received a BSED in secondary education English from the University of Vermont.

Stephanie Rheinheimer graduated from Eastern Mennonite University with a bachelor's degree in social work.

Sarah Conrad was inducted into Kappa Delta Pi, an international honor society in education that is dedicated to scholarship and excellence in education. The Alpha Gamma Delta Chapter at Mary Baldwin College encourages members to take active roles in promoting worthy educational ideas and practices.

Emily Oehler was awarded the Emily Wirsing Kelly Leadership Award, which recognizes an alumna/us who has demonstrated outstanding service and excellence in leadership on behalf of Mary Baldwin College.

Charles P. Jones received a bachelor of arts degree in economics & business with a financial management concentration and leadership studies minor. His parents are Douglas F. Jones and Bonnie J. Peabody.

Saad Hamadi earned a master of business administration degree with a major in general business from The University of Scranton.

Bador I. Aljasem earned a master in health administration degree with a major in health administration from The University of Scranton.

Mariya Ilyas graduated from Bowdoin College with a major in mathematics and a minor in government and legal studies.

Nathaniel Chester and Andrew Frazier were awarded bachelor of arts degrees from Connecticut College. Chester majored in biological sciences while Frazier majored in history.

Melat Habtemichael, Meron Habtemichael, and Edgardo Pleitez have been placed on the dean’s list in recognition of their academic excellence during the spring 2013 semester at New River Community College.

Megan Elizabeth Epperson and Emily M. Kane both graduated from Clemson University. Epperson graduated Magna Cum Laude with a cachelor of arts in biological sciences, while Kane graduated with a master of education in counselor education (student affairs).

Kathleen Ansel graduated from Bard College at Simon's Rock with an associate of arts degree in liberal arts. Ansel attended T.C. Williams High School before leaving after 10th grade to enter college early.

Ivan Kyle G. Borces, Rachel H. Fernandes, Alexandra M. Russell, Jenna L. Tryon, and Alexandra B. Van den Berg all made the dean’s list for outstanding academic achievement during the spring semester of the 2012-2013 academic year at Bucknell University.

James Denison,a member of the class of 2014, was awarded the art history junior-year prize and the Eaton Leith French prize at Bowdoin College.

Amanda Whittenburg has been named to the spring 2013 dean's list at Armstrong Atlantic State University.

Claire Garney graduated from Rice University.

Christopher Thompson graduated from Ohio Christian University with a bachelor of arts in psychology.

DeNancy Brown and Meklit Thomas won the 2013 Rotary Club of Alexandria Career and Technical Education scholarship awards for $2,500 scholarships .

Glancy Rosales, of T.C. Williams High School, accepted an honors scholarship awarded by Northern Virginia Community College. The scholarship was awarded to local high school students and covers the cost of in-state tuition, books, supplies and travel abroad for two years of study.

John Adams Elementary School Principal Grace Taylor will resign at the end of the school year. Taylor, a T.C. Williams High School graduate, who joined ACPS staff as an associate principal at her alma mater in 2003, became principal of John Adams in July 2011, having served as the school's acting principal since April of that year. She will join Fairfax County Public Schools as Cluster 5 director.

Cheryl Olechnowicz has been elected to the Iota Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa Society at Gettysburg College. Olechnowicz is a member of the class of 2013.

Dipesh Khanal has been named to the dean's list at Quinnipiac University for the spring 2013 semester.

Jasmine Brown, Miranda Jones, Nyarika Penick, Caleb Williams, and Chiquera Cureton have been admitted to Saint Augustine's University for the fall semester.

John Baroncelli, a political science major in the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences, earned one of the very first Science, Technology and Law minors offered through the College of Science.

A pair of faculty members from Dundee College in Scotland will visit Northern Virginia Community College’s Alexandria Campus from June 17-22. John Hayes, a senior lecturer in history and political science, and Simon Hewitt, curriculum manager of the computing and creative media department, will participate in various activities including touring NOVA, the Washington, D.C. region and visiting the Gettysburg National Military Park. Hayes will discuss how the Kingdom of England and the Kingdom of Scotland united to create a single, united kingdom called Great Britain with a lecture titled “Bought and Sold for English Gold: The Act of Union 1707.”

Kimberly Padgett was named to the Upper Iowa University 2013 spring dean's list

Simone Liu was honored as one of the brightest young students in the nation at a statewide awards ceremony for academically advanced children sponsored by The Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth.

Hanna Haghayeghi received a bachelor of arts in French and psychology during the May 2013 SMU Commencement ceremony.

Thomas Weaver graduated with a degree in classics from Colorado College.

Catherine D. Kahl graduated from Colby College receiving a bachelor of arts degree at the College's bicentennial-year commencement in Waterville, Maine.

William Donahoe, Natalie Felice, and Stephanie Restifo have been named to the University of Delaware's dean's list for spring 2013.

Sarah Elizabeth Noll has graduated from Pomona College with a bachelor of arts in chemistry and german. Noll earned Phi Beta Kappa honors and was awarded the 2013-14 Fulbright Fellowship Research Grant to Germany, The Stanley D. Wilson Prize in Chemistry and The Languages and Literature Prize (German).

Thomas Kelly, an architecture major, and Kenneth Cheston, another architecture major, both made the dean’s list at Roger Williams University for the spring 2013 semester.

Singh, doctor of dental medicine in dentistry with high honors; and Jacqueline N. Byrd, master of public health in health policy and management.

Five teachers from T.C. Williams High School attended the 2013 Advanced Placement reading: Patrick Earle, AP Environmental Science; Ziggy Craig, AP U.S. History; Jacqueline Gorski, AP English Literature; Adam Levine, AP German and Sally Miller, AP Statistics, spent a week reading and assessing AP exams and taking part in workshops and discussions.

Alexandria City Public Schools named fifth-grader Angelina Hunt of Charles Barrett Elementary School as 2012-2013 Poet Laureate. Recognition also went to Gabriel Brown of Samuel W. Tucker Elementary School, Lillie MacBride of Douglas MacArthur Elementary School and Emmanuel Teferra of Charles Barrett Elementary School.

Tommy Cheung, of Alexandria, received a spot on the dean’s list at RIT’s B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences.

Ginger Ruth Owusu graduated from Fort Hays State University.

Abeer Alhathli graduated from the University of New Haven with a masters in health care administration.

Shaun Holloway graduated from Eckerd College of St. Petersburg, Fl. with a BA in philosophy.

DeLisa Thomas earned a bachelor of arts in English degree from George Fox University of Newberg, Ore.

Sarah Rizer has been named to the 2013 spring dean’s list at Georgia Southern University.

Madelene Kuhn and Landon Moss have enrolled in Coastal Carolina University for the fall 2013 semester.

T.C. Williams High School Class of 2013 graduate Meklit Thomas has been awarded the Financial Literacy Scholarship, a $5,000 scholarship awarded for her focus on financial literacy during high school. The scholarship is awarded to 15 students across the country by The Financial Services Roundtable Scholarship Foundation. Thomas will attend George Mason University in the fall.

Diana Polson, a graduate of T.C. WIlliams High School, has earned a doctoral degree in political science from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York.

The Alexandria City Public Schools Office of Communications and Public Relations received six awards in the 2013 Publications and Electronic Media Contest sponsored by the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA). ACPS received an Award of Excellence in the category of Social Media for the ACPS and Social Media entry and an Award of Merit in the category of School District - Special Purpose Publication for "A Planning Guide for Students and Parents." ACPS earned Honorable Mention awards in the category E-Newsletter (Internal Audience) for ACPS Daily Digest for Feb. 15, 2013; in the category Internet/Intranet Website for the ACPS website; in the category Special Purpose Publication for Education Digest; and in the category Videocasting/Videostreaming for "ACPS News Break."

Daniel Paul Baylog, a senior, computer science major, in the College of Arts and Sciences and Kathleen Clare Wyskoczka, a junior, family science major in the College of Education and Human Sciences were named to the Deans’ List/ Honor Roll at The University of Nebraska- Lincoln for the 2013 spring semester. Baylog and Wyskoczka are both from Alexandria.

Glancy Rosales of T.C. Williams High School accepted an honors scholarship awarded by Northern Virginia Community College.

Edward J. Lee '13, the child of Dr. Charles C. Lee and Dr. Lesley H. Lee, of Alexandria, received a bachelor's degree in political science during the 2013 commencement ceremonies of Hobart

and William Smith Colleges, held Sunday, May 19.

John W. Sieke of Alexandria was among the 542 graduates awarded diplomas at Denison University's 172nd commencement held Sunday, May 12. John W. Sieke was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and a minor in Spanish from Denison.

Gabrielle Sakellarides graduated from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine with a degree of doctor of osteopathic medicine May 25.

Maxwell Moomba was named to the 2013 spring president's and dean's lists at Lincoln University

William Ford, Christina Heddesheimer, Michael Howell, and Meghan McCullough all received a degree from Emory University in Atlanta, Ga.

Anastasia C. Voellm was recognized for outstanding achievement at Randolph-Macon Academy. Anastasia received a Certificate of Excellence for Spanish Honors V and a Certificate of Appreciation. For her outstanding efforts throughout the year, the admission office also named her the Academy's Own Team Member of the Year.
