Summer Concerts on the Green Continue

The Summer on the Green Concert Series will run through the end of August. Due to inclement weather, two concerts originally scheduled for dates in June have been rescheduled for dates in July and August.

The upcoming concerts’ schedule:

  • July 19: Annapolis, bluegrass

  • July 20: Sarah Bennett Swanner, soulful blues, sponsored by Michele Dandrea-Stanley Smith Barney, LLC

  • July 21: Vienna Community Band

  • July 28: Village Jazz Band, sponsored by Tysons Corner Center

  • Aug. 2: Clarence Buffalo, soulful blues

  • Aug. 3: Richard Walton Group, jazz

  • Aug. 4: SoHo Down, country

  • Aug. 9: The Kingsley Winter Band, rock, sponsored by Dr. Allen Garai of Garai Orthodontic Specialists

  • Aug. 10: Open Mic Night

  • Aug. 11: Wayne Tympanick, jazz/dixieland

  • Aug. 16: U.S. Navy Band Cruisers

  • Aug. 18: Bill Emerson and the Sweet Dixie Band, bluegrass

The Summer on the Green is a free performance series presented by the Town of Vienna and a host of concert sponsors and supported through community donations. All performances are held at the Vienna Town Green, 144 Maple Ave. E. Bring chairs or blankets for seating. No alcoholic beverages are allowed. It is recommended that pets be left at home.

Vienna Youth Players Present Summer Musical

The Vienna Youth Players will present the musical “AIDA” at the Vienna Community Center, 120 Cherry St. S.E., on Aug. 2, 3, 9 and 10 at 7:30 p.m. and Aug. 11 at 1 p.m.

AIDA is a contemporary musical take on a grand classic tale of the timeless bond between an enslaved Nubian princess and an Egyptian soldier. As forbidden love blossoms between them, the young lovers are forced to face death or part forever. Together, they set a shining example of true devotion that ultimately transcends the vast cultural differences between their warring nations, heralding a time of unprecedented peace and prosperity.

Mike’s Flooring, Elements Therapeutic Massage Come to Vienna

Two new merchants, Mike’s Flooring and Elements Therapeutic Massage, have signed leases totaling approximately 3,800 square feet of space at Vienna Shopping Center.

Mike’s Flooring, a family-owned-and-operated business specializing in commercial and residential flooring, has leased 1,900 square feet next to Rose Kabob Restaurant. It operates Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.

Elements Therapeutic Massage, which plans to open its new location this summer, has leased 1,900 square feet next to Sleepy’s.

Vienna Shopping Center is at the intersection of Maple Drive and Courthouse Road in Vienna. The shopping center includes Panera Bread, Subway, Sleepy’s, Robek’s, and Foster’s Grill. The Rappaport Companies provides property management, leasing and marketing services for the center, which is owned by Vienna Associates Limited Partnership.
