Alexandria Chef Jim Jeffords of the Evening Star restaurant received top awards at the annual Taste of Del Ray on Sunday afternoon, June 9. Jeffords’ creation was a tomato sorbet with orange zest and a basil and banyuls vinaigrette. The Happy Tart was runner-up with a chocolate crème puff with caramel and strawberry fraiser. Taqueria Poblano received the people’s choice award and third place for Baja Fish Taco.
Participants this year included: Artfully Chocolate, Del Ray Café, Swing Coffee, Cheestique, Del Ray Cakery, Del Ray Pizzeria, Evening Star, Pork Barrel BBQ, The Happy Tart, Rosemarino d’Italia and Tagueria Poblano. Alexandria Kiwanis also joined in the festivities with ice cold bottles of wate
