Thinking Day

Each year on Feb. 22, World Thinking Day, girls honor their sister Girl Guides and Girl Scouts by taking time to give thanks for their international friendships and remember that Girl Scouts of the USA is part of a global community

This year's theme — "together we can save children's lives" — gives girls a chance to take action on issues affecting children's lives in other countries. Girl Scouts of Association #53 participated in a World Thinking Day event on Friday, March 1, held at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Alexandria. Participating troops represented countries ranging from Australia to the Philippines using poster displays, materials of culture, and food samples. A former Peace Corp volunteer was the guest speaker during the opening ceremonies.
