Leslie Anthony is the guest artist exhibiting at Katie’s Coffee House (the Old Brogue), 760 Walker Road, Great Falls in March 2015. Titled “Horses and Hounds,” the show consists of oil paintings mostly of Virginia Equine scenes plus one acrylic surprise. “There is so much energy when one paints horses, whether running, jumping or sniffing a hound, or even just standing there. My canvas is my storyboard and my paintings are the real story,” said Anthony who lives in Reston. photo, or this one is not the correct size, please let me know. The oil painting is entitled “Horse and Hound” 16” X 20”.

“I did not intend to become such an avid admirer of horses to the point that they are what I love to paint most. We had horses when I was little and I knew I loved them, but a few years ago I was introduced to a wonderful retired Thoroughbred in Great Falls, and we just connected. I was riding him one day and he turned his head around to sniff my boot. What a wonderful image that was with his muscles flexed and his beautiful soft eye. ‘I need to paint you Blue,’ and that was the beginning of a wonderful journey. Blue flew off my brush and onto the canvas,” said Anthony.

Anthony is a member of Artists on The Green, a Great Falls studio and gallery, Great Falls Studios, a premier consortium of local artists, AiM (Artists in Middleburg) and League of Reston Artists.
