TW Perry, a building materials dealer with locations in Virginia, Maryland and D.C. held a grand opening of their new location in Springfield. In addition to serving contractors and homeowners, TW Perry takes pride in their support of their Yellow Ribbon Fund that provides support to soldiers receiving medical treatment at Walter Reed Hospital. TW Perry’s Chairman and CEO started the Yellow Ribbon Fund to help injured soldiers during their treatments with housing, food and transportation needs. In addition, TW Perry is actively involved in a number of charities and approximately 10 percent of their personnel are military veterans.
To publicize their grand opening TW Perry invited Chris Cooley, former Redskin’s tight-end, and local radio and TV sports commentator, to meet and greet the public and sign autographs. In addition to his sports background Cooley is a ceramics artist. He is currently rebuilding his ceramic studio and will be reopening in a few weeks. Sport fans from as far away as Fredericksburg came to meet Cooley. Some brought his Redskins’ jersey, footballs, helmets or caps for his signature. Cooley was warm and gracious with each person, answering questions, smiling and taking photographs and selfies. TW Perry provided a free buffet lunch hosted by Mission BBQ and vendors pitched outside tents and demonstrated their products and services.
