Friday/July 8

Saturday/July 9

8th Annual Ice Cream Social. Noon– 4 p.m. Workhouse Arts Center, 9518 Workhouse Way, Lorton. Includes a handmade bowl and ice cream, performance by The Great Zucchini, a raffle and a dunking machine ($5 for three balls). Burke Lake Boat Fishing. 8 a.m. Meet at Burke Lake Marina, 7315 Ox Road, Fairfax Station. Students learn about the fish in Burke Lake as well as tricks to catch them. Clinic includes instruction and a trip around the lake by boat. Bring your own rods, bait and tackle or rent them from the park. Ages 10 – Adult. Children younger than 13 must be accompanied by a registered adult. Campfire Saturdays: Stargazing. 8:30 p.m. Burke Lake Park, 7315 Ox Road, Fairfax Station. Enjoy a stroll along the shores of the lake and learn about the constellations, their stories and other features of the night sky. Our astronomical naturalist will identify the stars for you, along with having some telescopes on hand for folks to try out. The program concludes with a campfire s'more ingredients provided, hot dogs welcome. Ages 2-Adult.
